By now, you’re likely already aware that LG’s upcoming flagship device, the G3, is set to be announced at the end of this month.
For those of you who are as impatient as I am, you’ll be happy to see
that two new photos of the G3 have leaked out for your gawking pleasure.
The leaked photos below are the clearest view of the device so far, showing off the G3 in
two different angles. The back side shows off the expected camera, LED
flash, power button, and volume rocker. The extra sensor on the back
side of the phone is more than likely the IR blaster. LG decided to move
this sensor onto the back side of the G Flex, so it’s easy enough to imagine that its done the same with the G3.
Both the G2 and the G3 look very similar in design, with a few
differences. The power and volume keys are redesigned, and it looks like
LG has decided to move the speaker from the bottom of the phone to the
back side. The company put forth a lot of effort in the audio department
last year, and we don’t expect it to forget about it this time around,
either. That said, I’d love to see the G3 with front-facing speakers ala
HTC One (M8).
The photo below might look a bit familiar, as it was initially leaked in a heavily filtered Instagram photo. Now, the guys over at Android Central have received the original photo, free from cropping and vignette filters.
With the unfiltered photo, you can also read a few of the notes that
have been scribbled next to the phone. From what we can see, the G3 will
ship with a 5.5-inch QHD display (that's 2560 x 1440), 13 megapixel
OIS+ camera, 1 watt speaker, and 3,000 mAh removable battery.
A few other specs are mentioned in the notes that are questionable,
including 2 tera(bytes?) memory, Quick Circle, and Gesture palm selfie.
Also noted are what look to be two different RAM and storage options,
which may be coupled together. It looks like there may be a possibility
that the G3 will come in 16GB/32GB storage and 2GB/3GB RAM variants.
Personally, I’m very excited for the LG G3. There have been very few
Android smartphones that have swayed me from the G2 since I picked it up
last September, and there’s a very good chance that I’ll be picking up
the G3 when it finally lands in the coming month.
